Cowgirls Fall at Texas, 69-53

AUSTIN, Texas - Oklahoma State's women's basketball team suffered a 69-53 loss to Texas on Saturday night in front of 4,000 fans inside the Erwin Events Center.
The Cowgirls (13-8 overall, 5-7 Big 12) struggled offensively in the first half, shooting just 28.6 percent and committing 10 turnovers. However, OSU found itself down 21-18 with just under four minutes remaining before Texas (14-10, 3-8) went on a 9-2 run to extend to a 10-point margin.
Seeing her first game action since Jan. 24 against Texas A&M, OSU sophomore Kendra Suttles banked in a 3-pointer at the buzzer to draw the Cowgirls within seven at 30-23 at the break. Suttles finished the half with a team-high nine points.
The Longhorns hit six of their first seven shots of the second half to push the lead to 47-30 with 16 minutes to go.
The Cowgirls got a 3-pointer from Suttles with five minutes left to get within nine at 57-48 before Texas responded with the game's next six points.
The Longhorns got a game-high 20 points from Chassidy Fussell, while Suttles paced the Cowgirls with 16 points.
OSU will take the court again on Feb. 15 when they take on Baylor at 7 p.m. in Stillwater.
