Cowgirl Equestrian Announces 2012 Signees

STILLWATER— Oklahoma State equestrian coach Larry Sanchez announced the signing of five riders to National Letters of Intent today.
"I am truly impressed with this years class as they represent exactly what we are looking for,” Sanchez said. “Their talent, work ethic and personalities are among the best that we've seen. Each will represent OSU at a very high level both in the arena and in the classroom and are all passionate about being a cowgirl. I am very excited about the future of our program."
The signees:
Jorden Davis
Joining the Cowgirls next fall is Connecticut native Jorden Davis. Jorden will be graduating this spring from RHAM High School in Hebron, Connecticut and is the daughter of Jeryl and Stephen Davis. Jorden has ridden all of her life as her family owns and operates Seven J's Farm in her home state. She has worked her way through the pony and hunter divisions, routinely competing on sale horses. Turning her attention to the equitation for the past three years, she recently qualified and competed in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania at the USEF Medal Finals and also at Maclay Finals in Lexington, Kentucky. In addition to her Mother, she also trains with Timmy Kees of Norfield Farm LLC. Jorden is also active in the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) and serves as a captain for her team. Oklahoma State looks forward to adding Jorden's experience to its team next year.
Maggie Drysch
Oklahoma State is pleased to add Maggie Drysch to the cowgirl roster this fall. Maggie is a resident of El Dorado Hills, CA and is the daughter of Beverly and Scott Drysch. Maggie has made her mark in the equitation world in the past two years, winning multiple prestigious classes in California and qualifying for local and national medal finals. Amongst her notable wins are the EMO Horsemanship Cup in Sonoma Horse Park, Ariat Monaco Jr./Am Equitation Classic as well as top finishes at NorCal Medal Finals and the Sacramento International Horse Show. Maggie also participates in the Interscholastic Equestrian League and was Overall Individual Varsity High Point Champion for 2011. Maggie trains with Kelly Van Vleck of Van Vleck Sport Horses and is currently showing in the low Jr/AO Jumpers. Maggie is an honors student at Oak Ridge High School in her home city and will graduate in the spring of 2013.
Brooke Klimek
Joining the Cowgirls in the horsemanship next fall is Brooke Klimek. She is the daughter of David and Colleen Klimek and hails from Purcell, Oklahoma. Brooke is a multiple American Paint Horse Association (APHA) World Champion. She was also No. 1 in the nation in horsemanship, showmanship, and western pleasure for the APHA.
Brooke is currently a sophomore at University of Central Oklahoma where she runs track for the Bronchos. She was the 2011-2012 Conference Freshman Runner of the Year in the MIAA. In high school, Brooke was a State Champion in the 3200M, All-State in cross-country and track, and won a gold medal in the International Games. At UCO, she is in the National Honor Society, Golden Key International Honor Society, and the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. Brooke is on the President's Honor Roll for both Athletics and Academics and is in the Leaders of Tomorrow program.
Brooke Pettet
Coming to Stillwater for the fall of 2013 is Brooke Pettet. Brooke is a resident of Lakewood, CO and will graduate from Valor Christian High School this coming spring. Brooke is a fierce competitor on both the local and national stage in the hunters, jumpers and equitation. She has qualified and competed at the ASPCA Maclay Finals in 2010 and 2011 and also was the Zone 8 Maclay Regional Champion in 2011. She has multiple other notable wins at prestigious horse shows such as the Colorado Horse Park Shows, Thermal and the Menlo Charity Horse Show. In addition to the equitation, Brooke is also competing in the Low Junior/AO jumpers with recent wins during the Summer Circuits in Colorado. Brooke rides out of Savoy Stables in Littleton, CO and is trained by Brianna Davis.
Miranda Reed
Cowgirl signee Miranda Reed will join the horsemanship side next fall. She has been an active member of the Missouri Quarter Horse Youth Association for the past 3 years serving as a director at large. Miranda has won Top 5 and Top 10 placings in the horsemanship at the American Quarter Horse Youth World Championships and the All American Quarter Horse Congress. She was also a two time finalist in the hunt seat equitation at the AQHYA World Championships. Miranda has earned superiors in the horsemanship, showmanship, and hunt seat equitation. Miranda is currently No. 3 in the nation in horsemanship for the AQHYA year end High Point.
The daughter of Ron and Lori Reed, Miranda will graduate in the spring from Licking High School. She is No. 2 in her class, a member of National Honor Society, and President of Student Council. She also lettered one year in basketball.
