Cowgirls Begin Play At USAFA Invitational

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -
Oklahoma State's women's tennis team began play at the United States Air Force Academy Invitational in Colorado Springs, Colo., on Friday.
The Cowgirls only played in two singles matches on Friday due to delays from inclement weather. Sophomore Meghan Blevins defeated Colorado's Winde Janssens 6-3, 1-6, 10-3 in the second round of the tournament after receiving a bye in the first round. Freshman Maria Alvarez won her match as well, defeating Laura Oldham of Arizona 7-5, 6-4. C.C. Sardinha received a bye in the first round of the tournament, and will play Colorado State's Kaley Schultz in the second round tomorrow. The Cowgirls will not have any teams competing in the doubles bracket of the tournament this weekend.
Oklahoma State will continue action in Colorado Springs on Saturday morning.
