TULSA, Okla. -
Oklahoma State's Meghan Blevins came up short in the singles quarterfinal round of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Region Championships in Tulsa, Okla., on Sunday.
Blevins was the last remaining Cowgirl in the tournament after Malika Rose and C.C. Sardinha were eliminated in the round of 16 on Saturday. The tournament's top-seeded singles player Petra Niedermayerova defeated Blevins 6-1, 6-2 in the match to advance to the semifinals.
“Overall, it was a good tournament for our team,” Cowgirl Tennis coach Chris Young said. “The depth of our team showed as each person won at least two matches. Now we have three weeks to continue to improve before our final fall event.”
The Cowgirls will look to finish their fall season on a high note when they travel to Sarasota, Fla., to compete at the Dick Vitale Lakewood Ranch Intercollegiate Clay Court Classic beginning on Friday, Nov. 9.
