Cowgirls Continue Play at ITA Regionals

Oklahoma State's women's tennis team looked to build on Friday's strong performance at the International Tennis Association Regional tournament in Tulsa, Okla., on Saturday.
Oklahoma State was eliminated from doubles competition on Saturday. The teams combined to go 2-2, with both Cowgirl doubles teams winning their round of 16 matches, and falling in the quarterfinals. The tournament's top-seeded tandem of Malika Rose and Kanyapat Narattana defeated Tulsa's Carol Benito and Maria Rivera Perez 8-2 to advance to the quarterfinals where they would lose to the Tulsa duo of Samantha Vickers and Isaura Enrique 8-4. Meghan Blevins and C.C. Sardinha beat Elisha Gabb and Cierra Gaytan-Leach 8-3, but were defeated by Melanie Delsart and Anastacia Simons of Southern Illnois 9-7 in the following round.
Only one Cowgirl remains in singles competition after day two of the main draw. Meghan Blevins defeated fellow Cowgirl Malika Rose 2-6, 7-5, 6-2 in the round of 16 to advance to the singles main draw quarterfinals. C.C. Sardinha also fell in the round of 16 to Nebraska's Stefanie Weinstein 6-3, 6-3.
Meghan Blevins will compete in the quarterfinals of the singles main draw Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. CT.
