Cowgirls Move Up to No. 22

STILLWATER - The Oklahoma State women's cross country team moved up to No. 22 and the men's team remained at No. 2 in this week's United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association national poll.
The Cowgirls got a boost in this week's poll, moving up one spot, due to their third-straight Cowboy Jamboree team championship and sophomore Monika Juodeskaite`s third-place finish.
This week's women's poll saw a shake-up at the top, with Florida State taking over the top spot and Arizona jumping from 12th to second. Cornell enters at No. 9, William & Mary at No. 17, Minnesota at No. 28 and Yale at No. 30. Virginia, Syracuse, Florida and Texas all dropped out.
The Cowboys received two first-place votes but still remain at No. 2 behind Wisconsin. William & Mary (No. 23), Georgia (No. 24), and Missouri (No. 30) all entered the poll this week and NC State, Texas A&M and Washington State all dropped out.
The Pokes are also coming off a strong performance this past weekend, winning their third-straight Cowboy Jamboree. OSU junior Shadrack Kipchirchir held off UTEP's Anthony Rotich to win the individual championship.
Both teams return to the course on Oct. 13 when they travel to Fayetteville, Ark. to compete in the Chile Pepper Invitational.
