The Oklahoma State men's cross country team holds on to the top spot in the latest USTFCCCA poll, while the women move up to No. 23, it was announced today.
The Cowboys began the season ranked No. 1 after winning their second-straight NCAA Championship and third-straight Big 12 title last season.
They began the season on Sept. 3, taking first place at the Hurricane Festival with a 3-0 dual record. Redshirt freshman Kirubel Erassa brought home the individual title, completing the four-mile race in 20:25.
The men received 10 of 12 first-place votes, with No. 2 Wisconsin and No. 3 Stanford each receiving a first-place vote.
The Cowgirls move up three spots to No. 23 after a first-place finish in the Hurricane Festival. The Cowgirls, who were led by freshman Monika Juodeskaite's second-place effort in the two-mile race, finished the event with a 5-0 dual record.
Both teams return to action on Oct. 1 when they host the Cowboy Jamboree at the OSU Cross Country Course in Stillwater.
