Cowgirls Host Tigers

Stillwater, Okla. — Oklahoma State's 20th-ranked softball team will host the No. 9 Missouri Tigers on Thursday, May 12, at 1 pm at the Cowgirl Softball Complex. Admission is free. The game was rescheduled after it was rained out on May 1 and is OSU's final home game of the regular season.
The Cowgirls are 37-14 overall this season and 8-7 in Big 12 Conference action. OSU is led by seniors Alysia Hamilton and Mariah Gearhart. Hamilton, the second baseman, leads the team with her .397 batting average, 62 hits and 13 doubles. Gearhart, the leadoff hitter and third baseman, is hitting .367 with a team-high 46 runs scored and 33 stolen bases.
In the circle, Oklahoma State is led by sophomore Kat Espinosa who has a 20-6 record and a 2.35 earned run average. Freshman Simone Freeman is 9-6 with a 2.17 ERA.
Missouri is 43-7 overall this season, 13-3 in league play and currently in second place in the Big 12 Conference, a full game behind the No. 5 Texas Longhorns for first place in the league standings. The Tigers are led offensively by junior Ashley Fleming who is hitting .377 with 15 doubles, 10 home runs and a team-high 48 RBIs. In the circle, Mizzou is paced by sophomore Chelsea Thomas who is 25-5 with a 0.83 ERA this season.
Oklahoma State will return to action this weekend as the Cowgirls travel to Lincoln, Neb., to wrap up the regular season with a two-game series with the 15th-ranked Nebraska Huskers.
