Cowgirl Tennis Falls to No. 25 Texas

AUSTIN, Texas – The Oklahoma State women's tennis team faced its 11th ranked opponent of the year Friday as the Cowgirls dropped a 6-1 decision to No. 25 Texas at the Penick-Allison Tennis Center.
The Longhorns picked up momentum early with a 3-0 sweep in doubles play. Sasha Belova and Leyla Simmons, playing together for the first time this year, nearly picked up win in the last match finished at No. 3, but fell in a tiebreaker to UT's Juliana Gajic and Maggie Mello, 7-6(4).
Texas won five matches in singles play to earn the 6-1 win, but Cowgirl freshman Kanyapat Narattana improved her conference mark to 6-1 with a win over Juliana Gajic at No. 5.
Oklahoma State, now 6-12 (2-5), resumes play Saturday as it takes on No. 33 Texas A&M in College Station, Texas.
