Cowgirl Softball Hosts Tigers

STILLWATER, Okla. (OSU Athletics ) -- The 16th-ranked Oklahoma State softball team will host No. 12 Missouri in the last home weekend series of the season. The Cowgirls are 37-11 on the year, 8-4 in Big 12 play and have won their last five conference games.

Oklahoma State is hitting .306 as a team and led offensively by seniors Mariah Gearhart and Alysia Hamilton. Gearhart has a .393 batting average and leads the team with 45 runs scored, .506 on-base percentage and 33 stolen bases. Hamilton leads the team with a .395 average, 58 hits and 12 doubles.

The Cowgirl pitching staff has a 2.02 earned run average and has combined for 19 complete games, 11 shutouts and 293 strikeouts in 322 innings pitched. Sophomore Kat Espinosa leads the staff with a 20-5 record.

OSU is 57-36 all time against the Missouri Tigers, including a sweep last year in Columbia. The Tigers are 39-6 this season and 10-2 in conference play.

The first game of the weekend will be Saturday at 2 p.m. The second game will be on Sunday at noon.
