Stillwater, Okla. — Oklahoma State's 19th-ranked softball team travels to Norman, Okla., on Wednesday for the first Big 12 Conference matchup with Bedlam-rival Oklahoma. First pitch is slated for 7 pm at the OU Softball Complex. It will be the 139th meeting between these two teams on the softball diamond.
The Cowgirls are 32-9 overall this season and 3-3 in Big 12 Conference play, currently sitting in a tie for fifth place in the league standings. The Sooners are 32-11 overall, 5-3 in conference play and tied for third place in the Big 12.
The OSU offense is led a pair of seniors and a pair of juniors, all infielders. Third baseman Mariah Gearhart is hitting .414 with 40 runs scored and is 32 of 33 on stolen bases. Oklahoma defeated the Cowgirls 7-0 earlier this season in a non-conference game that was part of The Preview Featuring Bedlam in Oklahoma City. The all-time series between these two rivals is tied squarely at 69 games each.
