Cowboy Golf Earns Win At Duck Invite

EUGENE, Ore. - Oklahoma State's men's golf team earned its third victory in four starts this spring with an eight-shot win at the Oregon Duck Invitational on Tuesday at Eugene Country Club.
The Cowboys fired a 10-under 278 during their final round to finish at 848, 16-under, and eight strokes clear of host Oregon at the par-72, 7,020-yard layout. For OSU the win was its fifth victory overall this year in eight events.
Washington's Chris Williams posted a 69 during his final round to claim medalist honors with a 207 total.
OSU senior Kevin Tway closed with a 3-under 69 to tie for fifth place at 211. The Edmond, Okla., native had an adventurous round that featured eagles at Nos. 1 and 8 as well as double bogeys at Nos. 6 and 7. Tway also logged birdies at Nos. 3, 9, 12 and 14 en route to his third top five of the year.
Joining Tway in the top 10 was sophomore Sean Einhaus, who posted a third-round 71 to finish tied for seventh at 212.
Junior Morgan Hoffmann posted the squad's low round of the day with a 68 to move into 12th place at 214, while freshman Talor Gooch was a stroke back at 215 and tied for 13th.
Sophomore Drew Page's closing 76 tied him for 34th place at 221.
Redshirt freshman Kevin Dougherty, who competed individually, earned a top 20, tying for 19th place at 217 after posting a 74 during his third round.
The Cowboys will be back in action on April 2 when they begin play at the Augusta State Invitational in Augusta, Ga.
