Cowgirl Softball Plays Two Midweek Games

STILLWATER, Okla. (OSU Athletics The Cowgirls are 25-6 on the season and are coming off a 5-0 weekend at the USF-The Game Tournament. OSU is hitting .326 as a team and is led at the plate by senior Alysia Hamilton. The second-baseman is hitting .427 with nine doubles and 24 runs batted in. Fellow senior Mariah Gearhart leads the team with 34 runs scored and 23 stolen bases.
The OSU pitching staff has a combined earned run average of 1.67 and is led by Kat Espinosa. The sophomore has a 12-2 record, a 1.66 ERA and 84 strikeouts in 92.2 innings pitched. She also has nine complete games and two saves.
Oklahoma State has an all-time record of 24-6 against Missouri State, including two wins last year. The Bears are 11-10 on the season and are hitting .241 as a team. Sophomore Kirstin Cutter is leading her team with a .388 average, 19 hits and five stolen bases. MSU has a 3.61 team ERA and is led by Natalie Rose who has a 2.73 ERA. The junior has a 6-8 record, 87.1 innings thrown and 87 strikeouts.
OSU is 9-3 all time against North Texas, including a 7-0 shutout last season. The Mean Green are 13-14 this season with a .283 team batting average. Sophomore Lesley Hirsch leads UNT at the plate with a .352 average, four doubles and 11 RBIs. Sophomore Brittany Simmons leads the pitching staff with a 2.79 ERA, a 6-7 record, 105.1 innings pitched and 47 strikeouts.
This will be the only meeting between OSU and North Texas this season. The Cowgirls will play a second game with Missouri State on April 5th in Stillwater.
