PALM HARBOR, Fla. - Oklahoma State junior Peter Uihlein will be back in action this week at the PGA Tour's Transitions Championship in Palm Harbor, Fla.
A 2010 first-team All-American and the reigning U.S. Amateur champion, Uihlein gained entry into this week's field via a sponsor's exemption. He will begin play at Innisbrook Resort Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. (EST) and will be grouped with Tommy Gainey and Chris Kirk.
The start will mark the third time the Orlando, Fla., native has teed it up in a professional tournament. Last summer, Uihlein competed at the Nationwide Tour's Children's Hospital Invitational and he also took part in the 2006 PGA Tour Buick Championship.
Jim Furyk is the defending champion at the event, which features a $5.5 million purse.
