Cowgirls Cruise Past Alcorn State, 69-36

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's basketball team improved to 3-0 on the year with a 69-36 win over Alcorn State on Tuesday night in front of 1,887 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
The Cowgirls used an early 10-0 run to break a 5-5 tie and never looked back. Defensively, OSU held the Lady Braves (0-5) to just six points over the final 8:21 of the first half.
Junior Lindsey Keller scored 10 of her team-high 13 points in the first half and the Cowgirls hit 50 percent of their shots from the floor to take a 38-19 lead into the break.
Despite shooting 29 percent in the second half, OSU was able to extend its margin, building to a 30-point lead with less than 15 minutes to play. The Lady Braves did not get closer than 29 the rest of the way.
For the game, the Cowgirl defense forced 24 turnovers and allowed just seven field goals in each half with Alcorn State shooting 26 percent in the contest.
Junior Toni Young matched Keller with 13 points of her own, while sophomore Kendra Suttles just missed a double-double after logging eight points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore Tiffany Bias scored nine points and added a game-high six assists.
Alcorn State's Tierro Frost led all scorers with 15 points.
The Cowgirls will return to action on Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. when they travel to Bloomington, Ind., to take on Indiana.
