STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State wrestlers Jordan Oliver and Jamal Parks have been chosen as two of the top 20 wrestlers in the nation to compete at the 2011 NWCA All-Star Classic, the NWCA announced today.
Oliver, a junior, is coming off of an undefeated 29-0 sophomore campaign which saw him win the national championship in the 133-pound bracket. He is ranked No. 1 in the 133-pound weight class and will take on third-ranked B.J. Futrell of Illinois.
The Easton, Pa., native is one of three NCAA champions and one of six athletes competing at the event for the second time in their careers.
Parks comes into his senior season ranked No. 3 in the 149-pound weight class after his All-American junior campaign. He will face Tyler Nauman of Pittsburgh.
In the 46-year history of the event, Oklahoma State has sent 85 wrestlers to compete – including Oliver and Parks – which is the most from any school.
Just fifteen universities will be represented in 2011, with Oklahoma State, American, Maryland, Illinois, and Wyoming each having two wrestlers selected.
