Cowgirls Drop Heartbreaker in Doubles Final

TULSA, Okla. – The Oklahoma State women's tennis team's run at the USTA/ITA Central Region Championship came to an end Monday as its freshmen duo of Mary Jeremiah and Meghan Blevins fell in a heartbreaking championship match to Oklahoma's Marie-Pier Huet and Whitney Ritchie.
The Cowgirls defeated four teams, including the No. 1 and No. 5 seeds, to reach the main draw doubles final, but came up just shy of claiming Oklahoma State's first doubles championship at the event in several years.
The match went back and forth and needed a tiebreaker to determine the winner, but the Sooners scored the last point to win, 9-8(5).
OSU is scheduled to return to action Nov. 11 at the Lakewood Ranch Clay Court Championships in Sarasota, Fla.
