Emily Blackburn, who played for Oklahoma State's Cowgirl softball program from 2006-08, died this past weekend in a car accident outside of Houston. She was 22.
A native of Kingwood, Texas, Blackburn was on Coach Rich Wieligman's first team at OSU. She spent two seasons in Stillwater before transferring to UTSA in San Antonio. Always a Cowgirl, Blackburn visited with her former teammates after OSU's games in Austin, Texas, this past season.
Visitation is scheduled from 5 - 8 p.m. on Friday and services will take place at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Brookside Funeral Home in Houston (13402 Eastex Freeway).
