COLUMBIA, Mo. – Oklahoma State's Cowgirl track and field team finished the last day of competition at the Big 12 Championships today with a strong showing in the triple jump.
Junior Clarissa Andrews finished fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 12.59 meters to add four team points to OSU's overall score in the meet.
"This is a great mark for her in bad conditions," Head coach Dave Smith said. "She was seeded 11th and took fifth, which is a testament to her. The fact that she competed in those conditions while some some others folded shows what she is all about."
Andrews's mark of 12.59 meters also was her best triple jump performance of the season. Also competiting today was junior Mihaela Susa who finished sixth in the 1,500 meter run finals with a time of 4:28.17.
A pack of Cowgirls competed in the 5,000 meter run finals today including junior Felicity Milton who finished eighth with a time of 16:26.89. Senior Natalia Kovtun finished 12th with a time of 16:44.65 and freshman Victoria Hanna finished 19th with a time of 16:58.07.
The Cowgirls return to action May 27 at the NCAA Outdoor West Regional Championships in Austin, Texas.
