OSU Tennis Athletes Make Academic All-Big 12 Team

IRVING, Texas - Oklahoma State men's athletes Aleksey Bessonov, Anton Bobytskyi and Oleksandr Nedovyesov, as well as women's athletes Sasha Belova, Alisa Buslaieva and Nataliya Shatkovskaya, were named to the 2010 Academic All-Big 12 Tennis Team, the league office announced Tuesday.
Nedovyesov and Bobyskyi, both majoring in economics, were named to the men's first team, while Bessonov, majoring in Russian language & literature, was named to the second team. Shatkovskaya, majoring in international business, as well as Belova and Buslaieva, both majoring in economics, were also second team members on the women's team.
It is Nedovyesov's third- and Bobytskyi's second-consecutive year to be named to the Academic All-Big 12 Men's Tennis First Team. Bessonov, Belova, Buslaieva and Shatkovskaya are receiving the honor for the first time.
To qualify for the Academic All-Big 12 Tennis Team, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in at least 60 percent of the team's scheduled contests. To be a first team member, athletes must have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA. Second team members must have maintained a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
