STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's winning streak reached four Wednesday at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium as the Cowboys cruised to a 17-1 win over Oklahoma Wesleyan.
The Cowboys racked up 20 hits as they won their 18th game at home this season to improve to 23-13 overall.
Tom Belza, Kevin David and Dusty Harvard each had three hits and three RBIs, and Don Lisi picked up his first-career win on the mound for the Cowboys.
Lisi worked four scoreless innings and allowed five hits and got plenty of run support from his teammates, who scored at least twice in each of the first four innings.
The Cowboys wasted little time getting on the scoreboard. Davis Duren led off the bottom of the first with a triple, a hit that extended his hitting streak to 16 games, and Belza followed with an RBI single. OSU pushed its lead to 3-0 on a rarity when two runners scored on a sacrifice fly to deep center field off the bat of Nico Rosthenhausler.
OSU added four more runs in the second inning, getting a two-RBI double from Belza and a two-run home run from David to go up 7-0. David's homer was his sixth of the season.
The Cowboys continued to pile up hits and runs as they scored twice in the third inning and three times in the fourth. OSU also collected two runs in the sixth and three in the eighth.
OWU (15-30) managed its lone run in the sixth on an RBI double by Mickey Armstrong off Cowboy reliever Uriah Fisher.
Belza and David each finished 3-for-6 and scored three runs, while Harvard was 3-for-5. Mark Ginther also blasted his team-leading eighth home run, a solo shot in the third inning.
Up next for the Cowboys is a trip to Austin, Texas, to take on second-ranked and Big 12 Conference leader Texas. Friday's series opener is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
