Long Cowgirl Scores Automatic Mark

South Bend, Ind.—Cowgirl Senior Mihaela Susa ran the mile Saturday at the Alex Wilson Invitational posting a time of 4:36 and a first place finish securing her automatic mark and trip to Indoor Nationals.
Susa broke the school record which was previously held by Christine McMiken who ran the mile with a time of 4:37.50 in 1985.
Head coach Dave Smith was proud of Susa's accomplishments this season.
“Today was a great breakthrough performance for her,” Smith said. “We are excited to see what she can do at nationals.”
Susa and Cowgirl junior Felicity Milton will both head to nationals in Fayetteville, Ark. on March 12 to compete in the mile and 5,000 meters, respectively.
