Botezan Breaks Romanian Record

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Oklahoma State sophomore Raul Botezan broke his own under-23 Romanian record with a 1:49.22 in the 800 meters.
Botezan's time was the fourth-best in school history for the indoor 800 meters and a lifetime best for him.
“It was a great run for him,” Cowboy coach Dave Smith said. “He's going to barely miss qualifying for the NCAA Championships, but it was a great run for him.”
The Cluj-Napoca, Romania, native is a natural miler that has run at the 800 meters for much of the indoor season.
The Cowboy track and field team returns to action March 12 and 13 for the NCAA Championships in Fayetteville, Ark.
