Cowgirls Face Wichita State

Stillwater, Okla. -- The No. 18 Oklahoma State softball team will travel to Wichita, Kan. to play the Wichita State Shockers on Tuesday at 5 p.m. The Cowgirls are 26-7 this season and have won nine of their last 10 games. OSU is 69-6 all-time against Wichita State, including a 1-1 record last season.
Oklahoma State is batting over .300 as a team and continues to be lead by junior Mariah Gearhart and sophomore Julie Ward. Gearhart has a team-high .427 batting average, 34 runs scored and a .537 on-base percentage. Ward has a .758 slugging percentage, a Big 12-leading 16 doubles, seven home runs and 42 runs batted in.
The Cowgirl pitching staff has a combined 1.97 earned run average. Senior Anna Whiddon leads the Big 12 with four saves on the season. She has a 14-3 record, a 1.90 ERA, eight complete games and 113 strikeouts in 99.2 innings pitched. Freshman Kat Espinosa is 9-3 on the season with a 1.79 ERA.
The Shockers are 9-13 this season and are led by junior Heather Gerritse. She has a .389 batting average with 21 hits, four home runs and 15 RBIs. Sophomore Kasha Kolb leads Wichita State in the circle with a record of 4-7 and a 3.00 ERA.
