Cowgirls Open Outdoor Season

TULSA, Okla. – Oklahoma State's Cowgirl track team battled through the cold and snow to start their outdoor season Saturday at the Tulsa Duels.
Cowgirl newcomer Victoria Hanna won the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:54.54. Freshman Jacqueline Campos and sophomore Melanie Funke also competed in the 1500 meter run placing third and seventh with times of 4:57.24 and 5:05.39 respectively.
The Cowgirls had several sprinters compete Saturday in the 100, 200, and 400 meters. Freshman Alexandria Bruner placed sixth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 15.37. Sophomore Kendra Woodson finished third and eighth with a time of 35.20 and 1:20.87 in the 200 meter dash and 400 meter dash. Sophomore Brandi Andrews finished fifth in the 400 meters with a time of 1:13.95.
The Cowgirls return to action next weekend at the Stanford Invitational on Friday and Saturday and the Arkansas Spring Break meet on Saturday.
