STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's national champion Cowboy cross country team will be recognized at the first- and second-round games of the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship in Oklahoma City.
The Cowboy competitors from the NCAA Championships, along with the Cowboy coaches will attend the games and be recognized during one of the games.
On Nov. 23, 2009, the Cowboys captured their second cross country NCAA Championship in program history and first since 1954. OSU also won its second-straight Big 12 Championship and fifth-straight NCAA Midwest Region Championship.
Four Cowboys were named All-Americans, with senior Ryan Vail earning his third All-America honor. Vail won the individual Big 12 Championship earlier in the season.
Dave Smith, the head coach of the Cowboys, was named the Big 12 Coach of the Year, the Midwest Region Coach of the Year and National Coach of the Year during the fall.
The NCAA championship brought OSU's total to 49, a number that leads the Big 12 and is fourth nationally.
