Cowgirl Track Finish First Day At Big 12 Championships

Ames, Iowa – The Oklahoma State women's track and field team finished the first day of competition at the Indoor Big 12 Championship in Ames, Iowa.

The Cowgirls had three different competitors qualify for the finals set for tomorrow. Senior Mihaela Susa qualified for the one mile run finals placing fourth with a time of 4:51.18.

Sophomore Kendra Woodson qualified for the 800 meter run finals placing eighth with a time of 2:11.99 and junior Teran Mixon qualified for the 1000 meter run finals finishing seventh in the preliminary race with a time of 2:51.22.

"Every single girl ran a season best," Cowgirl coach Dave Smith said. "I'm really proud of Kendra Woodson. She was three seconds faster than the last time she ran. Teran Mixon is our workhorse. She just goes about her business and never complains. I'm proud of the girls."

Junior Clarissa Andrews posted her season best mark at long jump coming in 13th place with a mark of 5.79m.
