Cowgirls Return Home To Face Texas
Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (18-8, 6-6) will look to even its season series with Texas on Wednesday night when the Longhorns come to Stillwater for a 7 p.m. contest. OSU is trying to shake a five-game losing streak after Saturday's 80-69 loss at Baylor, while the Longhorns saw their six-game winning streak come to an end with their 58-44 loss to Texas A&M over the weekend.
Cowgirls and Longhorns... The Series
Texas holds a 23-8 advantage over the Cowgirls after its Jan. 20 win in Austin. OSU has won five of the last eight meetings. Texas won the last meeting in Stillwater, 91-74, and has won nine of the 13 games inside Gallagher-Iba Arena. The teams have split the season series the past two years with OSU also winning a Big 12 semifinal meeting in 2008.
Scouting The Longhorns
The Longhorns enter play looking to bounce back from a 58-44 loss at Texas A&M. The loss snapped a six-game winning streak. UT has played three overtime games this season, two of which went to double overtime. The Longhorns are 5-3 this season away from home, including a 4-2 mark in conference play. UT is second in the league in scoring offense (75.8 ppg) and 3-point field goal percentage (38.5). Kathleen Nash leads the Big 12 from beyond the arc, hitting at a 49.6 percent clip. Ashley Gayle is second in the league with her 3.2 blocks per game.
