Cowgirl Track Close Out Competition In Norman

Norman, Okla. – The Oklahoma State track and field team finished competition at the Sooner Open in Norman Saturday with several season bests.

The Cowgirl throwers had a strong showing with redshirt freshman Mykka Jaspar winning the women's weight throw B and recording her season best with a distance of 15.57 meters. Senior Julie Rader also recorded her season best and a fourth place finish with a 16.02 meter mark in the women's weight throw A.

Junior Brandi Andrews, sophomore Kendra Woodson, and freshman Alexis Alexander competed in the 600 yard run and finished third, fourth, and fifth with times of 1:25.53, 1:26.19, and 1:26.98, respectively.

Freshman Kate Kujawa placed third in the 1000 meter run with a time of 3:03.95 and junior Clarissa Andrews placed fourth and sixth in the triple jump and long jump with marks of 11.51 meters and 5.51 meters.

The Cowgirls will return to action February 26, when they travel to Ames, Iowa for the Big 12 Indoor Championships.
