Smith Is Big 12 Coach of the Year

STILLWATER - Oklahoma State's Dave Smith was named the Big 12 Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year for the third-straight year today after leading the Cowboys to their third-consecutive Big 12 Championship.
Smith also earned the USTFCCCA National Coach of the Year in 2009 after leading the Cowboys to their first cross country national championship since 1954.
A testament to Smith's coaching prowess, OSU has been nothing short of dominant throughout the year. The Cowboys have claimed the team championship, as well as the individual championship, in every meet they have competed in. The conference championships were no different, as the first four finishers were all Cowboys and Oklahoma State won easily over the rest of the field. Six of the Cowboys' seven competitors at the meet earned All-Big 12 honors.
Smith looks to add even more to his resume in the coming weeks as OSU travels to Peoria, Ill., for the NCAA Midwest Regionals Nov. 13, and to Terre Haute, Ind., for the NCAA Championships Nov. 22.
