OSU Equestrian Set to Begin Season

STILLWATER, Okla. – The 2010-11 Oklahoma State equestrian team will make its debut when it hosts the University of Tennessee-Martin at Animal Science Arena Saturday at 10 a.m.
Three freshmen will showcase their talents for the first time in an Oklahoma State uniform in competition and one more in exhibition.
The Cowgirls are coming off another successful campaign in 2009-10, competing at the Varsity Equestrian National Championships and placing fifth in hunterseat and sixth in western.
Competing for the Cowgirls in horsemanship are seniors Ashley Kennedy and Courtney Whitacre, junior Mamie Tomlin, sophomore Marissa Dalton and redshirt freshman Lauren Halvorson.
Senior Bri Parnell, juniors Caroline Daniels and Rachel Houchin, sophomore Christy McElreath and freshman Jenna Blumer will represent Oklahoma State in reining.
Senior Alice White, junior Jordan White, sophomore Ellie Sparks and freshmen Sammy Elser and Samantha Harrison will compete in equitation over fences for the Cowgirls.
Alice White, Jordan White and Ellie Sparks will appear once again, this time in equitation on the flat. They will be joined by senior Jessie Brothers and sophomore Haydan Vosburgh.
