Cowgirls Compete at Capital Challenge

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. -- Select members of the Oklahoma State Equestrian team competed at the Capital Challenge Horse show this weekend.

Freshman Samantha Harrison headlined the Cowgirls, being named the Equitation Champion for her age division. She beat 30 of the top junior riders in the country with her first-place finish in equitation on the flat and second- and third-place finishes in equitation over fences. Freshman Chelsey Zulia posted an eighth-place finish in the same division. Harrison also qualified for the North American Junior Flat Equitation Championships and finished fifth in the competition. Both are competing in the North American Equitation Championships on Sunday.

Fifth-year senior Ally Blais received honors in the adult division, including fourth- and eighth-place honors in equitation over fences and a seventh-place finish in equitation on the flat.
