Cowgirls Debut At Number Four

STILLWATER, Okla. – The Oklahoma State equestrian team debuts at number four in the opening Women's Intercollegiate Equestrian National Coaches Poll this season. The Cowgirls are 2-0 on the year and received 50 points in the poll. The Georgia Bulldogs are on top after receiving 78 points and a tie sees Auburn and Texas A&M sharing the number two spot.
Kansas State debuts in the sixth position and Baylor rounds out the Big 12 participants at number seven. All but one of Oklahoma State's opponents this season are either currently in the top 10 in the nation or receiving votes.
The Cowgirls are back in action when they travel to Waco next Friday, October 29, as they attempt to improve to 2-0 over the Baylor Bears on the season.
The collegiate coaches competing under the Varsity Equestrian Championship umbrella initiated the national poll. The poll will be released bi-monthly with the next announcement scheduled for Nov. 2, 2010.
