125: Following a pair of tough losses his previous two times out, Oklahoma State's Chris Notte got back in the win column with a 6-2 victory over Tony Mustari. After a scoreless first period, Notte started the second on top. He was hit for a penalty point, then yielded an escape to fall behind, 2-0. The Cowboy senior deadlocked the score at two when he bagged a takedown, then rode Mustari out for the duration of the period. Notte started the third period in the down position and escaped quickly to take a 3-2 lead. He swelled his lead to 5-2 after a bad shot attempt by Mustari resulted in a Notte takedown midway through the period. When the clock hit zeroes and Notte's 2:20 of riding time was added, the Cowboy senior was a 6-2 winner.
133: Cowboy freshman Jordan Oliver picked up his 11th win in his last 12 bouts with a dominant 21-5 technical fall victory over Casey Cruz that was ended at the 4:45 mark. Oliver was dominant from the start, bagging three first-period takedowns, with the second coming by way of a fireman's carry that also resulted in a three-point nearfall. He added a two-point nearfall in the waning moments of the period to take an 11-2 lead into the second period. Oliver scored a quick escape and four more takedowns in the second period and added riding time to seal his win.
141: In a fast-paced bout at 141 pounds, OSU's Jamal Parks was an 11-8 winner over Kenny Hashimoto. Parks made an early statement with a pair of first-period takedowns. He extended his lead in the second period after Hashimoto had his leg, but Parks got free to bag a takedown of his own to go up, 6-3. Parks started the third period in the down position and escaped quickly and added yet another takedown to take a 9-4 lead. Hashimoto wiggled loose for the escape, then scored his lone takedown of the bout to trim Parks' advantage to 9-7. A Parks escape and subsequent stalling penalty brought the score to 10-8 at the end of regulation, but Parks' riding time point brought the final score to 11-8.
149: Wrestling in front of his home-state crowd, OSU junior and Johnstown, Colo., native Quinten Fuentes lost a 3-2 decision to Justin Gonzales. After a scoreless first period, Fuentes escaped quickly for the only point of the second stanza. Gonzales escaped early in the third period to tie the score at one, then extended his lead to 3-1 when he caught Fuentes in a bad shot and scored a takedown of his own. Gonzales rode Fuentes before the Cowboy finally broke free for an escape with one second on the clock.
157: Cowboy junior Neil Erisman pitched a 7-0 shutout in his victory over Justin Gaethje at 157 pounds. Erisman opened the scoring with a single-leg takedown in the first period, then added a three-point nearfall to storm to a 5-0 lead after the first three minutes. An escape early in the second period brought Erisman's advantage to 6-0. There wasn't any more scoring in the second period and with the two wrestlers on their feet to start the third, there wasn't any scoring in that stanza, either. Erisman's 1:22 riding time advantage brought the final score to 7-0.
165: Alex Meade dominated Kevin O'Brien during his 12-4 major decision victory. Meade bagged three first-period takedowns and held a 6-2 lead after the first three minutes. An escape and a takedown extended Meade's lead to 9-2 after two periods. O'Brien escaped to start the third, but was taken down again and when Meade's 2:48 riding time advantage was factored in, the Cowboy freshman secured bonus points for his team with a 12-4 major decision win.
174: Mike Benefiel continued his run of dominance this season with a 20-3 technical fall win over Brandon Kammerzell that was stopped at the 5:15 mark. Benefiel shot in immediately and hit a fireman's carry that led to a five-point move and nearly a fall but Kammerzell got off his back, only to be turned to his back again to fall behind, 8-0 through the first three minutes. Kammerzell escaped quickly to start the second period, but Benefiel took him down three more times and added another three-point nearfall to extend his lead to 17-3. The two wrestlers started the third period in the neutral position and Benefiel hit another takedown to end the match just 15 seconds into the third. When his overwhelming riding time advantage was factored in, Benefiel was a 20-3 technical fall winner.
184: Clayton Foster claimed his fourth win by fall this season when he flattened Patrick Prentice out at the 3:28 mark of the bout. Foster punished Prentice from the start, using three takedowns, a two-point nearfall and a pair of three-point nearfalls to race to a 14-2 lead in the first period alone. He added another takedown early in the second period, then took control of Prentice's head, locked up the cradle and got the fall.
197: Alan Gelogaev won by forfeit, as Northern Colorado had no one to compete at the weight class.
285: Top-ranked Jared Rosholt made quick work of Justin Tuell, pinning him at the 2:02 mark. Rosholt countered a bad shot by Tuell and turned it into a takedown of his own early in the bout, then turned Tuell to his back for a three-point nearfall. Rosholt turned him to his back a second time and got the full body press to record the fall.
