OSU Head Coach Kurt Budke
“I don't think we were at our best tonight but it was a win. We knew coming home late Sunday and the fact that we have a little sickness going around that this game was more about survival than worrying about how well you played. Andrea (Riley) got the flu and Megan (Byford) had three IV's put in her arm today just to get fluids in her. But the good thing is that we get to rest for a couple days as we get prepared for our next game. It was about getting the win and that's what we got here tonight. “
“Tegan (Cunningham) was dead tired tonight. They all were. I was surprised at how well we shot the ball with being as tired as they were. We backed off at practice yesterday and they still looked like they were dragging tonight. I told them that every team has sickness and bumps and bruises. A team who competes for a league title will find a way to get it done. I appreciate them finding a way to get it done tonight.”
Andrea Riley
On the game
“We knew Missouri was coming off an outstanding win against Baylor and I think that they really had a lot of confidence in their game and I think they really wanted to come in here and get a road win. We had to really focus on not letting them get an upset, especially at home because we have to protect the home floor in Big 12 play.”
On if it felt like they were going through the motions due to fatigue
“It really did. Playing up at Colorado, the altitude and everything; it gets a lot of you. It gets your breathing. It gets your legs; everything. It was a quick turnaround, also, and me and Tegan played 40 minutes. We just had to dig deep because there's not any time off in the Big 12.”
On why Coach Budke left Riley and Cunningham in the game so long
“He knew that Missouri is a dangerous team and they can get a spurt really fast because of their defense. They are very athletic and they play well on defense. They are very aggressive and they are very physical.”
Tegan Cunningham
On shooting the ball well
“I felt like I was shooting the ball well. They had some good defenders on me and it was hard to get open early on. I just stuck with it and kept shooting the ball. It's always a pleasure to be on the other end of Andrea's passes.”
On the tough stretch of games
“It's a hard stretch playing at Colorado then coming back here. We had like one day to prepare for Mizzou.”
On Precious Robinson
“She's a lethal threat on the boards and she can get offensive rebounds or defensive rebounds anytime she likes.”
Missouri Head Coach Cindy Stein
On the game
“I think Oklahoma State is tough to beat at home. We knew that coming in. I'd like to take the second half and make it the first half. We were really out of sync in the first half; we couldn't hit an open shot. It put a lot of pressure on us. “
On guarding Tegan Cunningham and Andrea Riley
“We knew we would have trouble with (Andrea) Riley but we were hoping that we could shut (Tegan) Cunningham down. Obviously we didn't do a good job of that. I think those two are a dangerous duo and were really tough on us today.”
On Andrea Riley being left off the midseason Wooden Award watch list
“Uh yeah, who's doing that list? That's ridiculous. That had to be a typo. She's a terrific player and she should be on every list there is.”
