OSU Track Set to Kick Off 2010 Season

STILLWATER, Okla. -- Oklahoma State's men's and women's track and field teams travel to Wichita, Kan., on Friday for the Wichita State Varsity Apartments Invitational to begin the 2010 indoor track and field season.
Throwing events begin the action, with the weight throw set to start at 12:00 p.m., followed by the shot put at 2 p.m.
Jumps coach Zivile Pukstiene's Cowgirl jumpers will be in action with the long jump at 2 p.m., the high jump at 3:30 p.m., and the triple jump at 5:00 p.m.
The track events are set to convene at 5:00 p.m. with sprints, hurdles and coach Dave Smith's distance runners.
The Cowboys open the season ranked No. 21 in the preseason USTFCCCA rankings, joining seven other Big 12 teams.
The Big 12 leads all conferences with eight teams in the preseason rankings. OSU's track teams travel to Fayetteville, Ark., the following weekend for the Razorback Invite.
