Vail A CoSIDA Academic All-District Selection

STILLWATER, Okla. - For the second consecutive year, Oklahoma State runner Ryan Vail earned a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District team and is now eligible for a spot on the Academic All-America team, it was announced today. Vail was a first-team Academic All-America honoree last year and was recently selected as Oklahoma State's 2009 Male Student-Athlete of the Year for his combination of success in athletics and academics.
Vail won the Big 12 championship in the 10,000 meters this outdoor season and placed third in the 5,000 meters at the NCAA Midwest Region Championships in Norman last week. He was the leader of the Cowboys' first-ever Big 12 champion cross country team in the fall. During his career, he has racked up a pair of Big 12 individual championships (2008 indoor 3,000 meters and 2009 outdoor 10,000 meters) and has earned all-Big 12 honors six times.
Additionally, he has earned academic all-Big 12 honors eight times during his career and all-academic team recognition from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association six times.
