Cowgirl Softball Travels to Waco to Play Baylor

OSU is 27-9 overall this season and 3-1 in Big 12 Conference action, having swept Kansas and split a pair of games at Nebraska. Oklahoma State's record is tied for the best in the last 11 seasons through 36 games. The Cowgirls swept Baylor last season in Stillwater, 11-5 and 3-1.
Oklahoma State is led offensively by sophomore leadoff hitter Mariah Gearhart, who is batting .365 with a team-high 34 runs scored. She also leads the Cowgirls with 25 stolen bases in 26 attempts. OSU second baseman Alysia Hamilton is batting .346 with a team-high 38 runs batted in.
In the pitching circle, junior right-hander Anna Whiddon is 13-5 with a 1.68 earned run average. She has 20 starts this season and eight complete-game shutouts. Sophomore lefty Sarah Odom is 12-3 this season with a 2.19 ERA in 14 starts.
The Baylor Bears are 27-14 overall this season and 3-3 in Big 12 play, coming off a split of a doubleheader at Oklahoma. The Bears are led offensively by rightfielder Kayce Walker who is batting .415 at the plate. First baseman Alex Colyer is batting .388 with a team-high 28 runs scored, while leadoff hitter Tiffany Wesley is batting .344 with 25 runs scored and 20 stolen bases.
In the circle, Baylor is led by freshman left-hander Whitney Canion who is 15-11 this season with a 1.72 ERA. She has thrown 21 complete games with 240 strikeouts in 166-2/3 innings.
Following this weekend's series, the Cowgirls will travel south to College Station, Texas, for a Wednesday doubleheader with the Texas A&M Aggies (23-12, 1-2). First pitch is slated for 5 p.m.
