2009 Cowboy Athletic Training Camp
The Cowboy Athletic Training Camp at Oklahoma State University is designed to provide students with a hands-on experience of the athletic training profession. The camp is open to all high school students who are interested in learning basic and advanced techniques in athletic health care. This camp is ideal for those who want to begin serving as an athletic training student at their high school, advance their skills and knowledge in the field, or get a head start in their athletic training education.
Camp activities will take place in the Athletic Training Laboratory in the Colvin Recreation Center as well as the Gallagher-Iba Arena Athletic Training Room. Both facilities contain state-of-the-art equipment which students will be able to utilize during their stay at camp. Each student will receive a binder with educational materials to keep for future reference.
After completing this camp, students will have a working knowledge of basic and advanced taping and wrapping techniques, recognition and management of injuries to the upper and lower extremities, along with a background in head injury and spine care, treatment of heat related illnesses, stretching techniques, and aquatic rehabilitation.
If your looking for a fun, interactive, educational experience in athletic health care, then Cowboy Athletic Training Camp is for you!
