OSU Travels to Tulsa for Border Wars

STILLWATER, Okla. (OSU Athletics <http://www.okstate.com>) ÂThe Oklahoma State softball team will travel to Tulsa on Wednesday for the ninth annual Border Wars between OSU, Arkansas and Tulsa. The Cowgirls will play the Lady Razorbacks at 3 p.m. and the Golden Hurricane at 7 p.m.
Oklahoma State is 26-8 this season and 3-1 in Big 12 play after a two-game split with Nebraska on Sunday. The Cowgirls are batting .283 as a team and are led by sophomore Mariah Gearhart with a .351 average, 34 hits and 32 runs scored. The third baseman also leads the team with three triples, a .492 on-base percentage and 23 stolen bases.
The Cowgirl pitching staff has a 1.67 earned run average (second in the Big 12) and has combined for 15 shutouts, leading the league. Junior Anna Whiddon leads in the circle with a 1.53 ERA, a 12-5 record, and 106 strikeouts in 110 innings pitched.
OSU is 7-5 all time in the Border War games, including going 1-1 last year. After defeating Arkansas 7-6 earlier this season, the Cowgirls are 4-5 all time against the Lady Razorbacks. The Cowgirls have an all-time record of 23-9 against Tulsa, including a record of 1-1 so far this season.
The Arkansas Lady Razorbacks are 19-13 this season and are being led offensively by senior Whitney Cloer. The catcher is batting .363 with 37 hits, including 12 doubles and seven home runs, and 25 runs batted in.
The Tulsa Golden Hurricane is 21-9 on the season and batting .289 as a team, led by junior outfielder Lauren Lindsay. She is batting .394 with 37 hits, nine doubles, seven home runs and 22 RBIs.
