March 19, 2009 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track
STILLWATER, Okla. Â The Oklahoma State men's track and field team begins its 2009 outdoor season on Saturday when it competes at the Tulsa Invitational, held at the University of Tulsa's Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.
Several teams are set to compete at the event, including Bradley, Kansas State, Langston, Northwest Missouri State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts and UMKC.
The Cowboys are scheduled to run in five events: the 400, 800, 1,500 and 3,000 meters, as well as the 2,000-meter steeplechase.
John Kosgei, coming off a 5,000 meters Big 12 indoor championship, will represent the Cowboys in the 800-meter run. He will be joined in the event by John Stublaski, who set his outdoor season best 800 meters time at last year's Tulsa Invitational.
Oklahoma State is heavily represented in the 1,500-meter run, where seven Cowboys are scheduled to compete, including freshmen standouts Colby Lowe and Ryan Prentice, running in their first collegiate outdoor meets.
The event is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. with the field events, while the track events will follow at 2:00 p.m.
