OSU Softball Travels to Missouri to Face MSU

STILLWATER, Okla. (OSU Athletics ) Â— The Oklahoma State softball team (21-6) will travel to Springfield, Mo., on Tuesday to take on the Missouri State Bears (9-10) at 5 p.m.

The Cowgirls went 3-2 this past weekend at the San Diego Classic II and continue to be led offensively by sophomore Alysia Hamilton. The second baseman leads the team with a .381 batting average, 35 runs batted in, 32 hits and 45 total bases. The OSU pitching staff has a combined earned run average of 1.58 led by junior Anna Whiddon's 1.28 ERA. Whiddon is 11-4 on the season with nine complete games, seven shutouts and 89 strikeouts.

The Bears are coming off a three-game losing streak as they were swept by UNI at home. MSU is led by senior Jessie Smith who is batting .474 with 27 hits including six doubles, three home runs and a triple as well as 11 RBIs. They are being led in the circle by freshman Natalie Rose who has a 3.65 ERA, a record of 3-4, 54 strikeouts and only four walks.
