No. 5 Cowgirl Equestrian Sneaks Past Kansas State

The Oklahoma State Equestrian team moved to 3-1 in the Big 12 Conference after with a 13-11 win over No. 9 Kansas State Saturday at the OSU Animal Science Arena. The win was the fifth-ranked Cowgirls' second over K-State this season as OSU improved to 5-2.
In the Western portion of the show, the Cowgirls took down K-State, 8-4. OSU earned a 4-2 win in the horsemanship discipline 4-2 as senior Jordan Pickelman, sophomores Margaux Tucker and Courtney Whitacre and freshman Nichole Chricio were all victors in the category. Whitacre captured MVP for the third time this season as both she and Pickelman remain undefeated.
Senior Jacque Roberts, junior Rachell Shobe, sophomore Bri Parnell and freshman Caroline Daniels all picked up wins to give the Cowgirls a 4-2 victory in the reining discipline. Parnell remains undefeated and moves her record to 6-0 this season.
"I was extremely proud of how our girls rode today," said Head Coach Larry Sanchez "The girls are in a good place, there is a lot of unity on the team. I was happy to see the day turn out how it did."
The Cowgirls were defeated in the English portion of the show, 7-5. OSU tied 3-3 in the equitation on the flat discipline, but seniors Charlotte Collingsworth and Sam Collingsworth and junior Ally Blais all captured victories. Blais won the MVP in the discipline for her second of the year in the flats discipline.
OSU dropped the equitation over fences discipline, 4-2, to the Wildcats. Blais picked up a win for the Cowgirls in this discipline, as did sophomore Alice White. It was Blais' sixth win on the season in the flat discipline.
The Cowgirls are back in action next Saturday in Waco, Texas as they take on Baylor.
