Softball Takes Two in Denton

In the first game of the night, OSU (10-4) scored one run in the second inning and then three more in the third when junior Sam Heinlein hit a three-run home run to make the game 4-0. The Cowgirls scored another run in the fourth and had another three-run inning in the fifth. With two outs, Heinlein got a hit and was followed with a hit from Chelsea Garcia. Senior Breana Casaus hit a triple that scored the runners and Casaus scored on a throwing error by the second baseman.
Junior Anna Whiddon started the game for the Cowgirls and got the win. She threw 5.1 innings giving up one run off five hits, struck out six and didn't walk any. She improves to 4-3.
In the second game of the evening
The Mean Green got on the board in the fifth when they scored two runs off a single through the left side by Anna Barren.
Sophomore Sarah Odom started the game in the circle for OSU and picked up the win after giving up two runs off seven hits and striking out six. She is now 5-1.
The Cowgirls will return to action in their home opener on Friday when they host
