Fall 2008: Took first place in the flight three finals of the UNLV Fall Invitational with her defeat of Illinois State's Tanja Hrovatic ... was a semifinalist in doubles with teammate Galina Semenova at the UNLV Fall Invitational ... competed in the 2008 Wilson/ITA Central Region Championships.
Junior (2008): In singles play, defeated Nebraska's No. 5-ranked Amber Chandronnait, 2-6, 7-6, 6-3 ... was the deciding win for Cowgirls against Iowa State by defeating Alyssa Palen at No. 5, 6-2, 6-1 ... helped OSU advance to second round of the Big 12 Championships with win against Maureen Modesto... teamed up with Jessica Collins in doubles competition to help the Cowgirls upset an Ole Miss duo, 8-5 ... the tandem also helped Oklahoma State improve to a 5-5 record in Big 12 play with a victory over a Missouri duo, 8-3.
Before OSU: Played volleyball, basketball and swam in high school ... won the Ukrainian Women's Championship in December 2004 in singles and placed third in doubles ... won Doubles Championship of Ukraine in January 2005 ... won both the singles and doubles at the Women's Championship of Ukraine in 2005.
Personal: Daughter of Mykhaylo and Nataliya Tkachenko ... has one sister, Iryna, who played for Oklahoma State from 2004-08 ... majoring in Interior Merchandizing ... enjoys swimming and Latin American dances ... loves animals and hopes to own an animal shelter one day ... likes to watch action movies ... chose OSU because it gave her the best opportunity to continue her sports and academic career ... can speak Ukrainian, Russian and English.
Coach Lubicz-Majewski on Tkachenko: "A coach always looks to his seniors for leadership. She played very well last fall. You can tell this season that she is more dedicated and has worked harder than ever. She is a very aggressive player. Her experience is starting to show."
