2007 OSU Team & Individual Academic Highlights
- OSU had 113 student-athletes earn Academic All-Big 12 in 2007 breaking the record set in 2006 of 101 (this number led all Big 12 schools).
- OSU had a record 39 Academic All-Americans/Scholar-Athletes named in 2007 breaking the 2006 record of 24 (this led the Big 12).
- OSU had 35 student-athletes earn President's Honor roll in the spring of 2007 and 39 were named to the President's Honor roll in the fall of 2007.
- OSU had 67 student-athletes earn Dean's Honor roll in the spring of 2007 and 63 were named to the Dean's Honor roll in the fall of 2007.
- 224 OSU student-athletes earned Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll (3.0 or above) in the spring of 2007 and 225 earned the distinction in the fall of 2007.
- OSU had 8 sports earn All-Academic team in 2007:
Men's Cross Country (OSU record 10th year in a row!!!!)

Women's Tennis
Softball

- OSU had six teams that led the conference in Academic All-Big 12 selections and four more teams finished second.
- 16 Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholars were selected in 2007 (This number is the second highest total in school history behind 2006 when OSU had 17, which led the nation).
- Diversity represented at OSU: With 33 Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholars over the past two years, OSU leads the Big 12 conference (Texas is second with 19 over that span).
- Darnell Smith (Football) became the first OSU student-athlete to win the prestigious John McClendon Minority Postgraduate Scholarship.
- Demarcus Conner won the Scholar-Baller Academic Momentum Award (one of 16 national winners selected). He was OSU's first-ever recipient of this award. Established in 1995, the Scholar-Baller® Program, in conjunction with the National Consortium for Academics and Sports (NCAS) movement, evolved in response to concerns that the student-athlete's athletic role increasingly superseded the student role. In order to address this issue, the founding members of Scholar-Baller® developed a groundbreaking program to bridge the gap between education and sport utilizing student-athletes' passion for entertainment and athletics. As a result, the Scholar-Baller® program has produced unprecedented outcomes in student retention and academic achievement.
- Niccole Grimaldi (Women's Soccer) was selected for the fall 2007 Big 12 “Good Works” team for outstanding performance in the classroom and community service.
- Niccole Grimaldi (Women's Soccer) and B.J. O'Connor (Football) were selected as OSU Alumni Association Seniors of Significance. Since 2005, OSU has had seven student-athletes earn this prestigious honor.
- Women's Track earned an OSU team record 20 Academic All-Big 12 picks in 2007.
- OSU Wrestling led all sports with 39 Academic All-Americans/Scholar-Athletes. Since 2000, OSU is second in the nation with 21 NWCA Academic All-Americans.
- OSU Softball led all women's sports with 37 Academic All-Americans/Scholar-Athletes.
- 221 OSU student-athletes, trainers, managers and spirit squad members were honored at the 2007 Academic Awards banquet for outstanding academic achievement in the classroom.
- 16 OSU student-athletes were honored for having a perfect 4.0 GPA.
- 95 OSU student-athletes graduated in 2007 (May/July or December).
- 24 baseball student-athletes earned a 3.0 or greater in the spring 2007.
- OSU Football earned the highest team GPA in the history of OSU in the spring of 2007.
- Nine sports teams earned a 3.0+ average in the fall of 2006 and 8 more in the spring of 2007.
