Cowboys Headed to Sooner Open II

The Basics
The Oklahoma State men's track and field team is sending three athletes to compete at the Sooner Open II this Saturday at the Mosier Indoor Center in Norman, Okla.
Mitchel Rolfes is scheduled to compete in the 200- and 400-meter dash, while Brad McNiff will run the 1,000 meters and Ryan Little will run the mile.
The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m., with the last event scheduled for 3:55 p.m.

The Cowboys ran strong in their last event at the Husky Classic in Seattle, Wash.
German Fernandez and John Kosgei both ran national top-10 times in the 3,000-meter run, posting marks of 7:47.97 and 7:55.95, respectively. Fernandez's time was also the fastest in school history and the second-fastest in the nation this year.

Cowboys in the Polls
The Cowboys are ranked No. 16 in the nation in this week's U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Division I rankings. Oklahoma State was not ranked last week, but soared after freshman German Fernandez and junior John Kosgei both turned in top-10 times in the 3,000 meters in Seattle on Feb. 14.
Oklahoma State is one of seven Big 12 teams ranked in the top 16 and one of nine Big 12 teams included in the top 25 this week.
