Cowgirls Travel to Orlando for UCF Tournament

The Cowgirls are coming off a 2-1 weekend in Houston where they defeated Indiana twice and fell to Texas State. OSU is being led in the circle by sophomore Sarah Odom who improved to 2-0 over the weekend with a complete game shutout against the Hoosiers. She has tallied 23 strikeouts in 19 innings of work.
Freshman Julie Ward leads the team in RBIs with 11. The first baseman has five hits on the season including three home runs and a double.
On Friday morning, Oklahoma State will face Portland State and Boston College. OSU is 1-1 all time against Portland State and last faced them in 2004. The Vikings are 4-5 on the season, including an 8-1 win over No. 16 DePaul, and are being led offensively by senior centerfielder Jackie Heide, who has 12 hits including five home runs and 11 RBIs.
The Cowgirls have a 3-0 all-time record against Boston College and also faced them in 2004. The Eagles are 2-3 and are led by junior catcher Amy Tunstall. She is 7-for-14 with three doubles and four RBIs.
On Saturday afternoon OSU will face Illinois-Chicago and host Central Florida. This will be the ninth meeting between the Cowgirls and the UIC Flames with OSU leading the all-time record 7-1. The last meeting was in 2003 and resulted in a Cowgirl victory. The Flames are 1-7 this season and led offensively by senior Melissa Marinacci. She has eight hits, including two doubles and a home run and four RBIs.
OSU is 0-2 against Central Florida in the last three years and will face them for the second time this season. The last meeting was at the Kajikawa Classic in Arizona and UCF won 8-5. The Knights are 4-6 on the season and are led by junior Hillary Barrow who has eight hits, including five doubles and two home runs and six RBIs.
The Cowgirls will play a fifth game on Sunday against an undetermined opponent.
