Cowboys Headed to Husky Invite

The Basics
The Oklahoma State men's track and field team is set to compete at the Husky Invite this Saturday at the University of Washington's Dempsey Indoor.
Most Cowboys will be running in the 3,000-meter run, including junior indoor one mile world record holder and two-time junior national cross country champion German Fernandez, as well as standouts John Kosgei and David Chirchir.
Clay Mayes will represent Oklahoma State in the 5,000-meter run, while Brad McNiff and Johnathan Stublaski will run in the one-mile run for the Cowboys.
The event is scheduled to begin early Saturday at 7:30 a.m., with the last event scheduled for 5:45 p.m.

Cowboy runners German Fernandez, Ryan Prentice and Ryan Vail competed for Oklahoma State at the USA Cross Country Championships in Derwood, Md.
Fernandez won the junior division championships for the second consecutive year, earning a spot on the U.S. junior national team, while Prentice finished eighth in the division, making him the second alternate for the team.
Vail competed in the open section, where he finished sixth and earned the right to run for the U.S. national team.
The U.S. teams compete at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships on March 28, 2009, in Amman, Jordan.
