Each week during the cross country season, senior All-American and Big 12 Indoor champion Ryan Vail and freshman German Fernandez will give fans a text message-sized look into their lives with the newest feature on okstate.com, Text Messages From The Cowboys. Sometimes the topic will be cross country, sometimes it won't. This week's installment comes from Vail:

After another great week of workouts I can't help but mention the difference I notice in the team from my freshman year to this year. Rather than two or three guys leading the way, we have a group of about 10 that are capable of pushing it in the front. We are running faster with this entire group than the top few guys were running by themselves just a few years back. Our depth is incredible. The attitude has evolved over the last four years in a significant way as well. The expectations are higher than they have ever been and the entire team has responded to meet these expectations.
